DURHAM – Former Blue Devil Chris rumph iiSaturday’s performance for the Los Angeles Chargers topped Duke’s alumni in the NFL in Week 3 of the preseason.
The outside linebacker was a beacon of hope for the Chargers’ defense in the 27-0 loss to Seattle, registering four tackles, including three for a loss and a sack. Rumph II, a Gainesville, Fla. Product, also produced two quarterback presses.
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones made his preseason debut on Sunday, finishing 17 of 22 passes for 135 yards and a touchdown. Jones found Kaden Smith on a 23-yard touchdown pass for his first score of the preseason.
Tight end Noah Gray continues to impress in Kansas City. Gray recorded two receptions for 24 yards in the Chiefs’ 28-25 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Friday. He recorded several takes for the second week in a row.
Offensive lineman Laken Tomlinson started for San Francisco this weekend and helped the 49ers to a 34-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Indianapolis Colts running backs Deon Jackson recorded 81 rushing yards in 10 carries with a single scoring and added a three-yard touchdown reception in Friday’s game against Detroit. The Atlanta, Ga. Native led the NFL in week three of the preseason with his last rushed total. The Colts led 17-9 early in the fourth quarter, but Jackson’s two touchdowns and the scramble for a two-point conversion helped Indianapolis score the game’s final 18 to secure the 27-17 victory.
Despite his performance during the preseason, Jackson was sidelined by the Colts on Tuesday as NFL teams cut their roster ahead of the regular season.

Chris Rumph had a great time tonight. Had a tackle for the loss and now brings down Sean Mannion for a sack!
I’m so glad we got to see this healthy dude tonight. One of the few bright spots.
