#DukeInTheNFL: Week 1 Recap – Duke University



DURHAM – Ten former Blue Devils appeared in the first week of the National Football League regular season.

Two former Duke defensive backs made an impact on their teams in the first week. Beginner Michael carter ii recorded five tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass break in his NFL debut for the New York Jets.

Earlier this week, Tampa Bay’s Ross cockrell, one of Duke’s longest-serving NFL players entering his seventh season, recorded five tackles in the Buccaneers’ 31-29 win over Dallas on Thursday night.

Offensive side, the quarterback of the New York Giants Daniel Jones opened his season with a performance of 22 of 37 passes for 267 yards and a touchdown. Jones also added 27 rushing yards in six scoring carries.

Former Duke offensive lineman Laken Tomlinson started at left guard in San Francisco’s 41-33 win over Detroit to enter his seventh season in the league.

In addition to Carter II, Victor Dimukeje (Arizona Cardinals), Noah Gray (Kansas City Chiefs) and Chris rumph ii (Los Angeles Chargers) made his NFL debut this weekend.
