The first phase of Milburngate will be completed in the fall and will establish the waterfront development as a flagship destination for living, working and playing. Developed by a joint venture between Arlington Real Estate and Richardson, Milburngate will also include 153 built-to-let apartments and contemporary, flexible Class A office space.

Allan Cook, General Manager of Arlington Real Estate, said, We are thrilled to have secured another premium brand like BrewDog in Milburngate. The quality of the project, its riverside location and access to a thriving social scene in Durham are just some of the reasons he chose to settle here.

“It is a perfect fit for Milburngate and its arrival will certainly bring something new and fresh to the town which will attract both locals and visitors from across the region.”

Simon Eastwood, property manager at Richardson, said: “BrewDog is a much sought after brand that will be very comfortable in Milburngate. Securing BrewDog as one of our principal occupiers demonstrates the ambition we have for Milburngate as a major destination that will enhance the economic and social prosperity of the region.

Milburngate includes the regeneration of Freemans Reach and the redevelopment of Milburngate House, which sits on the adjacent banks of the River Wear in the heart of Durham city.
