James Allen’s Girls’ School (JAGS) has appointed Ms Victoria Goodson as Head of their Junior School from September 2022. She will replace Ms Finola Stack, Head of the Junior School since 2007.
Speaking on her appointment, Victoria Goodson said: “I am delighted to be joining the Head of Primary School and can’t wait to get to know everyone at JAGS. I am wholeheartedly committed to continuing the excellent work of the school in providing an inspiring, ambitious and holistic education to all students.
Victoria will join JAGS at an exciting time as the school moves forward with its strategic plan – developing the learning environment, championing a diverse and inclusive community and realizing its ambition to be carbon neutral by 2030 .
Alex Hutchinson, Director of JAGS, said: “Victoria has extensive experience in the primary school sector with a longstanding commitment to exceptional pastoral care while ensuring that academic standards are of the highest quality. I am confident that Victoria will continue the excellent work of Finola Stack and I look forward to working closely with her during this period of transformation as we realize the vision of our strategic development plan.
Victoria is a graduate of Durham University with a Masters in Educational Leadership and Management. She joins JAGS from Sydenham High School GDST, where she has run the Prep School since 2019. Previously, Victoria was Assistant Headmistress (Lower School) at Newton Prep, London, where she worked for 12 years; manager of Rowan Brae, Surrey for two years; and Principal of the Junior School at Tower House School in London for five years.
Originally from Norfolk, Victoria attended an all-girls school where she particularly enjoyed the arts and sport and was an active member of orchestra, choir and madrigal bands. Victoria likes to spend time with her partner and their two children, as well as with the last born of the family, a rather lively kitten. She is an avid baker and, when she has the chance, she loves to play tennis.
